The Circular Mindset CIC was created to spark practical, community-led change in Bude – the kind of change that reduces waste, supports local people and businesses, and strengthens our town for the long term. We believe sustainability isn’t just about protecting the environment; it’s about building systems that last, embedding everyday practices that make our community more resilient, connected and future-ready.
Our work is grounded in three core values: Sustainability, Community and Circularity.
These values guide every decision we make and ensure that each project, from Cup Club Bude to workshops, mentoring, campaigns and future initiatives delivers meaningful, long-term benefit.
Sustainability means designing solutions that endure. We focus on reducing waste and emissions while creating long-term systems that can grow, scale and continue to serve our town for years to come. We aren’t interested in short-term fixes; we’re here to build lasting change.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. Our approach is collaborative, inclusive and open – no gatekeeping, no closed doors. We share what we learn, support local organisations, and co-create solutions with residents, volunteers, cafes and businesses. When everyone has access to the tools and knowledge they need, the whole community moves forward.
Circularity is our blueprint. We champion practical circular systems that keep resources in use for as long as possible, design out waste, and rethink how products flow through our local economy. Whether it’s replacing single-use cups with returnable options or developing new circular projects, we focus on real-world solutions that work for people and the planet.
As a Community Interest Company, every penny we generate is reinvested into community benefit – strengthening Bude’s resilience, supporting local climate action, and enabling new projects that help us all live more sustainably.
