Rosies Kitchen has joined the crew

We’re excited to be launching Cup Club at Rosie’s Café this Friday 27 March, bringing another brilliant Bude location into the growing reuse network.

Our team will be there on the day with a small pop-up stand to introduce the scheme, answer any questions and help customers see just how simple it is to enjoy a takeaway drink in a reusable Cup Club cup.

A perfect beachside addition

Rosie’s Café is a bustling, family-run beachside spot just a stone’s throw from Crooklets surfing beach. Sitting right next to Crooklets Café, our very first Cup Club Bude location, Rosie’s joining the scheme perfectly demonstrates what Cup Club is all about.

This isn’t a competitive reuse system between cafés. Instead, it works best when local businesses collaborate. By working together, participating venues make it easy for customers to borrow a cup in one location and return it in another, helping reduce the number of single-use cups ending up in the bin across Bude.

Rosie’s manager, Josh, was immediately enthusiastic about getting involved, and we’re thrilled to welcome Rosie’s into the Cup Club network.

A Café full of atmosphere

Rosie’s is positively bursting with atmosphere and offers a warm welcome to everyone who walks through the door. The modern diner blends Cornish charm with delicious beachside food, making it a favourite stop for locals, surfers and visitors alike.

With an enclosed sundeck overlooking the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, it’s the perfect place to sit back with a coffee, enjoy lunch, or watch the surfers rolling in from Crooklets beach.

Adding Cup Club here means people can grab a takeaway coffee before a coastal walk, a surf session, or a wander into town, knowing they can simply return the cup later at another participating café.

What to expect on launch day

If you’re around on Friday, come and say hello. Our team will be there helping people try the scheme for the first time.

Expect:

☕ Cup Club cups ready to borrow
☕ Friendly faces explaining how it works
☕ A chance to ask questions and get involved
☕ Another step forward for reuse in Bude

How Cup Club Bude works

The idea is simple:

  1. Order your drink and choose a Cup Club reusable cup
  2. Pay a small, refundable deposit
  3. Enjoy your drink wherever your day takes you
  4. Return the cup to any participating Cup Club café in Bude
  5. Get your deposit back, or swap it for your next drink

One small change in habit can prevent thousands of single-use cups from being thrown away.

Strengthening Bude’s reuse network

Every new location helps strengthen the local reuse network, making it easier for both residents and visitors to choose a reusable option when they’re out and about.

With Rosie’s joining Crooklets Café along this stretch of coastline, it becomes even more convenient for beachgoers, walkers and surfers to borrow a cup and return it later.

It’s a small but powerful example of how collaboration between local businesses can make reuse part of everyday life.

A huge thank you to the Rosie’s team

A big thank you to Josh and the entire team at Rosie’s Café for their enthusiasm and support in bringing Cup Club to their café. We’re delighted to have you on board and look forward to seeing Cup Club cups in hand along the Crooklets beachfront.
