What a weekend!
After months of planning, testing, fundraising and excitement, Cup Club Bude officially launched at Crooklets Beach Cafe — and what an incredible start it was.
From the moment the doors opened, takeaway coffees were flying out in our shiny new returnable cups. Locals, surfers, and visitors all got involved, and it was a joy to see our cups out in the wild. Final count on the day was 120 Club Cups out in the community – doing exactly what they’re designed for — stopping single-use waste in its tracks.
Every borrowed cup is a small act of change.
Every return is a reminder that together, we can do things differently.
What Cup Club Bude Is All About
Cup Club Bude is Cornwall’s first returnable cup scheme, created by The Circular Mindset CIC to make it easy for people to grab their favourite drink on the go — without the waste.
Here’s how it works:
☕️ Borrow a cup from a participating café.
🌊 Enjoy your drink on the beach, canal or cliffs.
♻️ Return it to any partner venue when you’re done.
Simple. Circular. Community-powered.
Our goal is to make reusables the new normal — cutting waste, keeping beaches cleaner, and showing what’s possible when a small coastal town leads with action instead of excuses.
