We’re thrilled to announce that Berries Community Cafe has officially joined the Cup Club Bude pilot – becoming the second café in town to say goodbye to single-use cups and hello to reuse!
Based in the heart of Bude, Berries has long been known for its friendly atmosphere, great food, and genuine community spirit and now, it’s taking that commitment one step further by choosing to completely stop purchasing single-use takeaway cups.
By joining Cup Club Bude, Berries is helping us show that small coastal towns like ours can lead the way in tackling waste at the source. Through our simple borrow → enjoy → return system, customers can now enjoy their coffee without the guilt of throwaway packaging and without sacrificing convenience.
“We’re so excited to see local cafes stepping up and making bold choices,” says Lauren Plummer, Co-Founder of The Circular Mindset CIC. “Berries’ decision to ditch single-use cups entirely is exactly the kind of leadership that helps Bude stand out as a community driving real change.”
Cup Club Bude launched its first site at Crooklets Beach Cafe, and with Berries now on board, the movement is growing fast. Over the coming weeks, more cafes will be joining the pilot – helping to make reuse the new normal in Bude.
This project is powered by The Circular Mindset CIC and supported by Circular&Co, with match funding from Cornwall Council’s Climate & Nature Fund helping us grow the scheme through our live Crowdfunder.

Together, we’re proving that even the smallest coastal town can lead the way on reuse. One cup, one cafe, one community at a time. ☕♻️
